FAQ

What is the expected skill level for program participants?
All participants should be strong, confident skiers. The program is aimed at skiers with race experience. However, we also accept participants who want to learn to race. Anyone new to racing must be able to ski parallel and control their speed and direction of travel.

What equipment is required for participation?
The minimum equipment required is: a race helmet (must be hard shell over the ears) Note: any new helmets should be sure to have the FIS approved logo on the back (UNDER THE CLEAR COAT, NOT A STICKER, this rule will be enforced starting in late 2016), race skis (recreation and twin tips are not acceptable), pole guards (for slalom), face guard (for slalom). Recommended: mouth guard.

What does the program cost?
The total cost of each program varies by age. This year there are 2 components to register for:
1. Program Registration fee. This fee is payable to Fenninger Racing by INTERAC – email transfer to racing@fenninger.ca. OR by cheque payable to Fenninger Racing c/o Victoria Fenninger. Each program fee is listed on the info page describing the program.
2. Alpine Ontario Registration Fee – these fees are paid by credit card online directly to Alpine Ontario. This fee is mandatory and required for anyone who registers for a program. Fees range depending on the age of the participant. This covers the insurance of each athlete participating in training.
If the participant is not planning to attend any Alpine Ontario/Alpine Canada sanctioned races Fenninger Racing has discount codes for racers wishing to train only.

What are the qualifications of your coaches?
All of our coaches are experienced racers and are licensed CSCF Level 1/Entry Level or higher. Each program will have at least one licensed CSCF Level 2/Development Level Coach.
